Fiberglass Bridge Drain Systems
Corrosion Resistant, Lightweight
Fiberglass is inert to oil, gas, road salt, ice melting solutions and many other corrosive chemicals. Even the cleanouts and related components are nonmetallic, avoiding failure due to corrosion. Compared to metallic or PVC systems, fiberglass pipes and assemblies are lightweight. Two people can easily carry 40 feet of 8-inch pipe, with cleanouts and assemblies.
Prefabrication makes installation easier, too. Directional changes, cleanouts, and scupper collectors can be prefabricated to the section of pipe, then lifted into place. Custom and specialty fittings are easily fabricated. If you can draw it, we can get it built.
Bridge and highway piping is filament wound composite pipe consisting of a thermosetting resin and continuous glass filament structural reinforcement. It is available in standard sizes of 4 to 24 inches, with larger sizes available upon request.
The primary joining method for fiberglass pipe is an adhesive bonded socket joining. Other typical joining methods are available.
